In the face of adverse weather today caused by ‘Storm Darragh’, members of Radiant Star Lodge 8967, based at Dartford Masonic Centre. Met for the regular breakfast club at the Rising Sun Harvesters, Dartford. Members of ‘Band of Brothers’ Widows sons also attended. Accompanying the brethren was Housing Manager Tracey Hinton from North Kent Mind.
Following Radiant Star’s Annual Black tie event in November, which raised £1000 donated to North Kent Mind. The Charity Representatives mentioned their Christmas campaign to hand out toiletries and clothing to the homeless and of no fixed abode in the Dartford area.
The Brethren of both Radiant Star Lodge and Band of Brothers agreed to support this campaign and collected enough toiletries, hats, gloves, scarves, socks and other clothing items to make North Kent Mind’s aspiration this Christmas a reality. So in a windy, wet car park, the brethren handed over all the items collected to the Mind’s Representative, who were delighted and very thankful for the continuing support Radiant Star Lodge and Band of Brothers demonstrated to positively make a difference to local persons in need and supporting a local charity in need also. At breakfast, the brethren also managed to raise £40 towards ongoing charitable endeavours.
Charity is one of the key values of Freemasonry, well done to both members of Radiant Star and Band of Brothers.
