I hope you and all your members are keeping well in these uncertain times.
Here is an update on the WEST KENT EMERGENCY FUND (WKEF) our team has been working hard to assist many local good causes and Charities as well as members of West Kent who required financial help.
To date on our behalf the WKEF has donated the incredible sum of £32,400 Included in this figure is £7000.00 which has come from the MCF in the form of Match Funding.
Therefore, it is most important to continue supporting the MFC in every way we can.In the meantime, one of our Brothers Ron Salter, a keen cyclist, in the absence of the London to Brighton bike ride, has decided to imitate the race in his garden. He is asking for sponsors and intends to cycle 100 miles (not the usual mere 54) aiming to raise £1500 for the COVID‐19 Community Fund. Added interest will be a live Facebook feed to watch or check on his progress. We also understand there will be some extraneous adverse weather conditions!
As we are in Festival, all donations to the COVID‐19 Community Fund will automatically augment your Lodge/Chapter 2026 Festival Relief Chest and your individual totals. Plus of course please “GIFT AID” your donation. We wish Ron every success with his venture and would like to see as much support as you feel able to give. If any other members of the Province would consider arranging a similar fund‐raising event please feel free to contact myself or any of the 2026 Festival team, we would be pleased to assist.
