On Thursday, April 27th, the first event of 2023 took place at Spring Hill Trout Fishery. It was a fly-fishing event that received support from 20 volunteers who generously dedicated their time to ensure its success. These volunteers assisted with catering, offered aid and coaching to the guests on how to cast, among other tasks. The event was attended by Nexus School in Tonbridge, with 12 children, 1 teacher, and 3 carers.

During the event, 10 Rainbow trout were caught, weighing a total of 20lb 9.5oz, with the largest fish weighing in at 2lb 8oz. The guests took the fish home with them.

A delightful lunch was served and was followed by presentations to every child, who received a framed certificate of achievement and a goody bag. We have some wonderful pictures of the event that we would like to share, but we understand the importance of respecting the privacy of the children we host. Therefore, we only display pictures of them if we have received permission to do so. We are thrilled that the event was a success and brought many smiles to everyone’s faces.

The next scheduled outing will be a coarse fishing event to be held at the DDAPS Horton Kirby venue on Thursday 22nd  June 2023.  If you are a coarse fisherman and want to get involved to help then please contact us
