I am saddened to announce that W. Bro Gordon William Sinclair Davie, PSGD, PAsstProvGM, Prestonian Lecturer & Holder of the Invicta Award, passed away earlier this morning, aged 87 years old, following a short illness the previous day.

Gordon was initiated into Chelsfield Lodge 6405 in 1955 and served the Craft with distinction for over 64 years – he was a founder member of 4 Lodges, Joining member of 11 and an Honorary member of a further 60. He was exalted in Hermes Chapter 77 and served the Royal Arch for over 55 years with distinction, being similarly involved in that Order.

He was intrinsically involved in Provincial matters since its formation in 1973 – a delightful and charismatic man, who was such an enormous inspiration and mentor to so many of us along the way. On a personal basis, he held a legendary status, and has undoubtedly lived respected and died regretted.

I am advised by his family that further details regarding his funeral arrangements will be announced in due course.

 Yours sincerely and fraternally
Mark Estaugh
Provincial Grand Master
