The Provincial Charity Committee of The Province of West Kent recently presented a cheque for £780 to Absolute Home Care to enable them to purchase the face masks that they so desperately needed. This has allowed them to continue to offer the specialist care to patients in their own homes and ensure the safety of their wonderful team as they go about their daily rounds. This care extends throughout the Kent area caring for patients released from Pembury, Maidstone, Sevenoaks, Edenbridge and Tonbridge Hospitals, giving palliative and rehab treatments to those patients in their own home.
This donation is about much more than giving the ability to purchase much needed equipment (which sadly is currently much higher priced than normal). What this donation has done is to give protection and confidence to the very brave people who are working in the less visible front line of care.
Fiona Baker (Director) of Absolute Home Care told us
“It has been a really difficult time sourcing all personal protective equipment and the costs have increased dramatically. We now have peace of mind that at least for the masks, we have three to four months supply for our staff, for which we are hugely grateful.”
Mark Estaugh, Provincial Grand Master of West Kent Freemasons, said:
“I’m very pleased we’ve been able to help the brave staff of Absolute Care to continue their valuable contribution to the health and wellbeing of our community.”
