Sunday 5th September saw the return of the Bexley Civic Parade, where West Kent Freemasons were delighted to be invited by James Hunt, Mayor of Bexley. The Mayor of Bexley holds this parade and service at Christchurch, Bexleyheath annually to thank volunteer groups within his community for their continued support and hard work, and to “see in” the new Mayor. We were represented by 23 brethren from across a wide range of Lodges and Chapters (including the PGM, Mark Estaugh, and the APGM for Group 4, Daniel Spencer), in full regalia, and the parade itself was an excellent opportunity to raise our profile in the local area. Members of the public engaged with us, some of whom were members who met a in other provinces that wanted to introduce themselves, whilst others were genuinely curious to find out more. We were also fortunate to be joined by several members of the Order of Women’s Freemasonry (OWF), a relationship that has continued to grow and develop at our other public events in recent months.
