West Kent Armed Forces Covenant
About Us
Like the military, Freemasonry is a fraternity where we work together as a team, build lifelong friendships and help those less fortunate and the wider community.
Whether serving in the Regular Forces, Reserve Forces or Cadet Forces, Freemasonry can offer you a bond of friendship, a social network and a supportive atmosphere.
Military Lodges
West Kent has a rich history of Lodges with a military background; Ordnance Lodge, United Military Lodge, West Kent Volunteers Lodge and Loyal Darenth Valley Lodge, to name but a few.
Currently, the predominant military Lodge in the Province is Beauchamp Lodge, which meets in Wilmington. Formed over 150 years ago as a Masonic home for military personnel in Northern India, its members now consist mainly of Regular and Reserve personnel from all Services and Veterans of all ages. It’s worth joining just for the banter at dinner!
Breakfast Clubs
The Official AFVBC (Armed Forces & Veterans Breakfast Club) is an opportunity Veterans to meet, swap stories, find support, and enjoy a hearty breakfast. Their mission is to create a warm and welcoming space for Veterans from all branches, making sure the support and welfare needs of veterans are fulfilled outside the breakfast clubs and not just the time spent at the breakfast clubs.
By fostering camaraderie and offering a network of like-minded comrades, we aim to ensure that veterans feel valued and appreciated for their service.
