The Theme for 2023 is “Forging a sustainable and peaceful common future”. This theme is used by All the commonwealth states as a Commitment for the year.
Mayor of Sevenoaks Cllr Rachel Parry invited representatives of the local community to join together with the Commonwealth Flag being raised in Sevenoaks, many groups representing their members. The Deputy Lieutenant “The Lord Colrain DL” read the Commonwealth Statement from the Secretary General and prayers we said by Revd Cannon Angus MacLeay.
The assembled group of some 25 Responded in affirmation.
Sea Cadets with the area commander Raised the flag in windy but dry weather, West Kent Freemasons were represented by W.bro Duncan Annells for Craft and Ashley Worcester for Royal Arch.
A lovely conversation conveying thanks for the community involvement by Freemasons not only in Sevenoaks but throughout Kent from the Mayor and Deputy Lieutenant especially.
