West Kent Masons Rambling Group and friends completed the ramble on Saturday 10th October in support of BBC Countryfile’s initiative for Children In Need. This was an eight mile ramble on National Trust land between Knole House and Ightham Mote. The walkers made donations and gathered sponsorship; Lodges donated money and made collections at Lodge meetings; and Province also gave support. The ramble was on footpaths or tracks around some beautiful countryside with stunning views across to Shipbourne plus walking between some very uninterested deer on the Knole estate. The Rambling group has been organising 5 or 6 mile walks twice a month throughout this summer and is now planning monthly winter walks. All are great fun, good exercise, good company and the inevitable alcoholic substance at the finish. Thank you to all those Lodges and individuals who have contributed. Donations are still coming in and we hope to let you know our grand total in a couple of weeks.
