Provincial Officers’ Mess- 17th November

by | Oct 27, 2015

It is the intention of our Provincial Grand Master to introduce a more informal layout and style at the Provincial Officers Mess.

Circular tables will be introduced and one member of the current Executive or an Active Officer of the year – plus a past Executive Officer will host each table. There will be no formal seating plan so just join any table you wish and enjoy the evening.

At his investiture, our PGM launched an Appeal for the Province to raise a minimum of £50,000 to support the refurbishment of the North West Transept Tower and its Pinnacles at Canterbury Cathedral. In conjunction with the Provinces of East Kent, Surrey and Sussex, it has been agreed to raise the total sum of at least £200,000 to support the repair work for this iconic building as part of our celebrations for the 300 years of English Freemasonry in 2017.

VW Bro Roger Odd from East Kent will be making a presentation in regard to this initiative and he will be accompanied by Mrs Heather Newton, Head of Conservation at Canterbury Cathedral (and formerly Head of Stonemasonry) who will explain the critical importance of the refurbishment of the North-West Transept Tower and its Pinnacles.

Should time permit, there will also be an opportunity to put your questions to our PGM in an open forum which will follow the presentation.
