Who are we
Welcome to West Kent Freemasons
The first thing that most people will ask is: “What is Freemasonry?” Put simply, Freemasonry is one of the world’s oldest and largest non-religious, non-political, fraternal and charitable organisations.
In 2015, the West Kent Freemasons donated over £3.25m towards the Masonic Samaritan Fund, which supports both Masonic and Non-Masonic Charities and many hundred of thousands of pounds continue to be donated to worthy and deserving causes across the Province, many of which receive no assistance from National, Local or any other form of funding sources.
But for most of us, it is a thoroughly enjoyable hobby which provides a tremendous amount of pleasure for us and our families alike.
Last year, we aimed to raise £60,000 to assist the six local Mayors in our Province with a £10,000 donation each, to support their chosen charities during their year in Office. This CALM Appeal (Community Appeal for Local Mayors) was hugely successful – with our generous West Kent members, raising over twice that amount, with a final total in excess of £160,000. This allowed us to give a further donation to the incoming Mayors, and to support a number of other highly deserving local charities within our Community.

What have we done recently ?
It was an honour to help for a limited few West Kent Freemasons to represent the Province at short notice, as part of a small team lead by the Provincial Grand Master and an Assistance Provincial Grand Master, after an invite to do so from the Mayor of Bromley
Family Matters First
Freemasonry gives people the ability to do some good and have some fun at the same time.
Many men of today like to have sense of direction and purpose, like getting out into the community and doing something worth while. We greatly encourage family and friends to get involved too in our charitable and community work. It simply makes you feel good too.
Freemasonry supplies you with the tools, you just have to learn how to use then.
We are proud of the achievements of the Province of West Kent – and whilst we strive for excellence, we also enjoy our Freemasonry – and hope to encourage others to share that experience with us.
