Presentation of Posthumous Invicta Award

by | Sep 4, 2019

A memorable and very poignant occasion today where a number of members of Kentish Round Table Lodge and their wives joined me to present Mrs Sheila Wheal with the first posthumous Invicta Award in memory of her husband, WBro Mike Wheal PPSGW PGStB (RA).

WBro Mike was due to be the recipient of this very special award at our Provincial Grand Lodge meeting earlier in May but illness prevented him from attending in that occasion, before he sadly passed away thereafter in June.

He had a distinguished journey and was appointed a Provincial Grand Steward in the Craft before being promoted to Active Provincial Senior Grand Deacon and Active Provincial Senior Grand Warden thereafter, before becoming Provincial Head of Communications. He was appointed Past Provincial Grand Sojourner before being appointed to Grand Rank in the Royal Arch two years ago.

He was remembered with great fondness by all present today and was a great contributor to the Province over very many years – he will be sadly missed.
