East/West Kent & Sussex Scriveners’ Lodges
Attention all Secretaries, Scribes, Treasurers and those interested in Lodge or Chapter Administration.
As part of the Tercentenary Celebrations, the Scriveners’ Lodges of East Kent, West Kent and Sussex are uniting to host a joint Conference for all interested Masons on Saturday 14th October 2017 from 9:30am until 1:00pm at the Maidstone Masonic Centre, Courtenay Road, Tovil Hill, Maidstone ME15 6QS.
The programme will commence with coffee on arrival and conclude with a buffet lunch.
The theme of this Conference will be “Back to the Future”, looking both back at our history and towards our future.
Back to the Future. A conference celebrating three hundred years of English Freemasonry, considering contemporary issues and looking to the future.
9.00 – 9.30 am Registration. Tea and coffee will be provided
9.30 – 9.40 am Welcome by the WMs of the three Lodges and introduction by the Conference Chairman (Roger Odd, East Kent)
9.40 – 10.00 am Keynote address. Graham Higgs (Masonic History Overview)
10.00 – 10.30 am Kevin Gest, ProvGOrator, Sussex (Freemasonry and Modern Society)
10.30 – 11.00 am James Marsh, ProvGSec & Keith Fairweather, APGM, W.Kent. (Data Protection)
11.00 – 11.20 am Mid-morning break. Tea and coffee will be provided.
11.20 – 11.50 am David Kershaw, DepGSup, E.Kent. (Royal Arch Future Challenges)
11.50 – 12.20 pm Chris Moore, ProvGM Sussex (The Future: Feast or Famine)
12.20 – 12.40 pm Delegates Questions led by Bob King (West Kent)
12.40 – 1.30 pm Buffet Lunch and depart
During the conference, there will be a rolling screen commemorating events of masonic interest over the last three hundred years. So something for everybody and also a chance to see how things work with your neighbours.
All this for £12 with light refreshments throughout.
