Educated at Dartford Technical High School, Wilmington 1963-1968

1968 joined Vitak Timber Imports Ltd, Belvedere as tally clerk.

1969 moved to new position at Burt Boulton & Hayward as sales assistant, appointed sales representative in 1971 and then in 1973 as sales manager at subsidiary at Hartlepool, Co Durham.

Married Sylvia on 15th September 1973 – we have three children Jonathan, Karen and Michelle.

In 1976 moved to Orpington to establish ‘Do it yourself’ business which expanded into timber merchants business and moved to new premises in Swanley, Kent in 1984.

In 1985 established a specialist garage door installation business at the same premises which is now the largest company of its type in the South East.

In 2000 sold the timber business to a competitor but retained the garage door business and re-located to Swanley Village.In 2005 my son Jonathan joined the company.

Due to further expansion the company purchased new premises at Wrotham Heath and moved again in 2010. After the initial setting up I effectively retired and now have a part-time involvement.

I was initiated into North Kent Lodge No 2499 on 4th December 1982 and served as Worshipful Master in 1993. Became Charity Steward in 1995 and was heavily involved in the 2003 Festival.

In 1996 was founder member of the West Kent Lodge of Charity No 9610 and served as Charity Steward from 2004 to 2007. Installed as Worshipful Master in February 2016.

Exalted into Biggin Hill Chapter No 8659 in 1998 becoming MEZ in 2007. Appointed as Charity Steward in 2009 and currently Scribe E.

Appointed in the Province as active Standard Bearer in 1998, promoted to active Junior Grand Deacon in 2004, Provincial Charity Steward in 2007 and APGM in 2015.

Appointed as Past Grand Standard Bearer in 2007, promoted to Past Junior Grand Deacon in 2015 and PSGD in 2016.

My family and the business has been my main interest. We have had many memorable family holidays and since 2003 have owned our own property in Spain which until this year was frequently used by all of the family.

My wife and I stated working through a long list of holiday destinations in 2012 and have now sold the property in Spain.

Freemasonry has been an important part of my life. I very much enjoy the camaraderie and have enjoyed the responsibilities of the various Offices I have held especially in the organisation of the 2015 Festival.
